New Study Exposes Dangerous X-rays
A study of women with genetic mutations that cause cancer revealed that chest X-rays could double or triple the risk of developing the dreaded disease.
Researchers studied women who had a particular version of the BRCA1 and BRCA2 breast cancer genes, which increase the risk of breast and ovarian cancers.
Women with either mutation who had X-rays were 54 percent more likely to develop breast cancer than women who did not have X-rays.
